Suggested Options for Saltwater Aquarium Fish

Saltwater aquarium fish are more expensive but can survive longer than the freshwater aquarium fish. Especially when you are still beginning to set up your aquarium, the very first thing that comes to mind is the kind of fish to put into it.

This usually comes before anything else, so here are some of the suggested options for saltwater fish:
  1. Lined Butterflyfish – It is one of the larger butterfly fish species. It can grow up to 12 inches in size. This fish is mostly found in areas with heavy coral growth reef slopes and it travels in groups, pairs or in singles. This saltwater aquarium fish is a coral eater, feasting on soft and stony coral polyps and mushroom anemones. If you consider putting it in your aquarium, you can have charcoal set up in it, too and this could be a nice addition to live rocks.
  2. Magnificent Foxface Rabbitfish – This type can tolerate a varying range of water parameters and may be a good saltwater beginner fish. But this fish has venomous dorsal spines so you need to be cautious when you use a net to catch it. This saltwater aquarium fish can be easily tangled in the net and if that happens gently move the net back and forth in the aquarium until the fish relaxes its fins.
  3. It is also better to chase the fish into a plastic container with the net. However, it is not advisable to keep multiple of rabbitfish in the aquarium but it is better if it is mixed with other more aggressive fishes.
  4. Emperor Angelfish – Also known in some parts of the world as Imperator or Imperial Angelfish. This saltwater aquarium fish is one of the more expensive marine fish to purchase because it is not necessarily as hardy as some of the other marine angels.
You will need a completely cycled aquarium before you even think to have one. It can grow to about 15 inches and need to be kept in a 100-gallon aquarium. A good setup for the aquarium for this kind of pet is to have a plenty of live rock that will provide for its hiding place.

Saltwater aquarium fish totally gives you a refreshing atmosphere because most have beautiful colors that go well with under the sea set up of your aquarium.
