Well maybe you wouldn’t die for your coffee table, but there are definitely pretty sweet types of coffee tables out there! I’ve already talked about glass coffee tables in a previous post. If you’re interested in getting a glass coffee table, read that post. In this post, I’ll dive a little more into the pros and cons of using a round coffee table or a square coffee table.
Square coffee tables are both very functional and pleasant pieces of furniture. Because of their inherent square shape, you are able to fit a lot of stuff on them if needed. They also fit well into the shape of most rooms. If you have couches arranged in a certain order you can almost always find a way to place a square coffee table in there in a way that is visually pleasing. It’s a good idea to theme your coffee table to your room. If everything in your room is very organic and not square-like, then a square coffee table is probably not for you. In this case, I would suggest getting a round coffee table.
A round coffee table is a good choice is your room style is more flowing and less architectural. Making the design of your house all go together is a fantastic way to create a sense of harmony and equilibrium. Round coffee tables are nice because you have less chance of hurting yourself on sharp corners. This is also great if you have small children who might be prone to hitting themselves on the corners. Square coffee tables are more common than round coffee tables and so just to be unique, you might think about a round one. Being unique and different isn’t the only thing to think about, but it does often play into reasons to buy or not buy something. At least consider this.
As far as color goes, you might want to consider a black coffee table, whether you go for a round or a square coffee table. Black is a color that goes with a lot of things and is generally a good choice. If black isn’t your thing, you can always go for the typical brown wood color as can be seen in an oak coffee table. This is largely personal choice so choose whatever suits your personal taste.
As I mentioned in my other post about types of coffee tables, try looking around online to find the coffee table that suits you best, and then look in a local store to physically see the coffee table. You can then make a well-informed choice on which coffee table to buy. Good luck!
